Are You Doing Too Much?
June 1, 2010
As a Speaker, Consultant, or Coach, it is very important to make sure that you have more than enough business to keep you on the move. But what happens when you try to focus on too many things? At some point, something falls to the wayside. You may have so many things going on, but when do you have the time to put into each of them? And not just time, but actual focus. If you are not giving real attention to the different aspects of your business, then what’s the use? Trying to do a bit of everything all at once basically means that you aren’t putting real effort into any one thing.
While it sounds nice to say that you are doing this, that, and countless other things, your business suffers. When you are basically being pulled in so many different directions, when do you have the time to take care of such responsibilities as:
- Assist your clients?
- Work on your marketing?
- Develop a product?
- Promote your product?
If need be, decrease some of the tasks that you are currently performing. Focus on what you can do now and on the things that will really make a positive impact on your business. Prioritize your business matters and go from there. At the same time, you want to be sure to have time for some sort of personal life as well. Remember “all work and no play…” well, you get the idea.
