Keep Your Virtual Assistant Informed
April 28, 2010
As a speaker, coach, or trainer, your time is very valuable. You may be on the run or in several meetings throughout the course of a day. It is definitely important that you attend your meetings, but you can’t forget the other aspect of your business.
While you are out and about, your Virtual Assistant should already have a copy of your schedule or at least a way to contact you. If some sort of emergency occurs and your VA is not able to effectively respond on your behalf, that puts your business in a bad light. Your VA should be able to get in contact with you if no one else.
If someone needs information from you, or needs to meet with you, your VA should be able to quickly and efficiently relay that message. Not only that, but you should be able to respond to your VA in just as timely a manner. It reflects much better on your business if people know they will actually get some sort of response to the question they are asking, especially if it is under some sort of time restraint.
The key is to communicate. As long as you are doing that, you will be able to spend your time focusing on your strengths and your back-end will be taken care of as well. If you are ready to work with a VA who will help you stay on top of things, contact us now to see how we can work together.
Is Your Website Up to Date?
April 26, 2010
Okay, so you have gotten your website and hosting taken care of. After that you came up with your content and input that as well. So that means you are done at this point, right? Nope. If you are constantly working at your business and trying to present yourself as an expert in your given field, then your website will truly never be done. There is always room to expand and grow, and that definitely should be reflected in your website as well.
Knowing that you are staying current, as far as the information on your website is concerned, helps your target market to feel that much more comfortable about listening to what you have to say. How would you feel going to a website that hasn’t been updated in a year or more? Contact information could have changed. The focus of the market may have changed. Maybe you added more services/products to promote but have not posted them to your website. There is no way to really know and your target market is not going to waste too much time trying to figure that out. If your website has not been updated in that long of a time, then you need to update your site ASAP.
Trends and techniques are always changing and evolving. No matter what it is you have to offer, your website should mirror that fact that you are staying on top of the developments in your field. Much like computers and cars, they are always being upgraded as technology progresses. Think of that in terms of your business, and your website will always be up to date and ready for intended audience.

Is Your Website Working for You?
April 19, 2010
Having a website is key for any business, whether it is virtual or not. Your presence on the internet is the fastest and easiest way for your target market to get more information about you and/or your business. Make sure that your website fully represents what you have to offer.
Your website should definitely have some key pages, including:
- Contact Page – How else will people know how to reach you?
- Bio/About Page – How do people know you are qualified?
- Services/Programs Page – What do you have to offer?
- Products Page – What is it that you sell?
You can decide the order of the pages, or you can add more pages – it is all up to you. The main thing is to make sure it reflects you and that you are happy with it. Your website will never be perfect, but nothing ever truly is. Try to make sure you proofread your content for any grammatical errors, and to make sure it reads properly. Also try to keep in mind that your page needs to be easy on the eyes, and the font shouldn’t be too small. Whether to use Flash or not, or considering which program to use for your website are also some of the things you will need to consider.

Is Your Presentation Ready?
April 2, 2010
Now that you have decided on your topic and prepared your speech, there is still a major component that you have yet to create – your presentation materials. Depending on your topic and what you want to communicate, there are quite a few choices as to what you can visually add to your presentation.
Some of your choices include:
- Hand-outs (Used to follow along with the speech, or to work on after the speech is over.)
- PowerPoint Presentations
- Tutorials (Videos can be used here.)
- Homework (Ideas and tactics the participants can utilize after the speech is over.)
You definitely want to leave your attendees with something tangible after the presentation is over. Not only does it help with implementing your key ideas, but it keeps your contact information easily accessible.
