What Do You Want to Present?
March 30, 2010
Being a Speaker, Coach, or Trainer, you already have a certain type of topic that you want to discuss. Aside from your niche, you should also be thinking about your strengths as a presenter. Do you want to focus on showing someone how to do something, or do you want to focus more on just providing information?
Some types of presentations you can give are:
- Conferences
- Seminars on your product or service
- Q&A Sessions
- Guest Interviews
- Tutorials
Of course there are many other choices, and there is no right or wrong when it comes to your decision. Focus on what you are best at, aside from just the information that you are offering. Make sure your presentation material is concise, informative, and does the job you intended it to do.

Preparation for a Webinar
March 26, 2010
Preparing for a webinar is much like preparing for an in-house event. You still have to think about your audience, write your material, and prepare any illustrations to go along with your presentation. For webinars, instead of searching for the ideal brick-and-mortar venue for your engagement, you need to search sites that host webinars.
Factors you need to consider:
- Price (monthly fee, 800# cost, etc.)
- Number of people dialing in
- Reliability of your phone service
- Recording function (Optional)
- Sound/Visual quality
- Other features (depending on the type of presentation you are giving)
Of course there are other factors to consider, all of which are up to the Speaker. One more bit of advice – call in and test the service yourself, and be there at least five minutes before your guests. Make sure you can dial in with no problems. Check that there is not static or call dropping, to name a few possible issues. These things will help ensure that your event goes off without a hitch.

Why a Webinar?
March 24, 2010
If you are not familiar with hosting events online, you may be asking yourself “Why should I host a webinar?” For each individual, the reason is different. I can tell you for sure that webinars are key for Speakers, Coaches, and Trainers.
If speaking is an important factor in your business, then you should already be using webinars. Depending on which company you choose to host your speaking engagement, they are relatively easy to set up. It is easy to set up as many conferences as you would like. All you need (besides your presentation material) is a good landline phone, a quality headset, and your computer.
There are so many cost benefits to using a webinar. Areas where you can spend less include:
- Cost of Venue
- Travel Cost
- Lodging (if event is out of town and lasts for more than one day)
- Equipment provisions and set-up
- Staff (to assist with event)

Sites to Hold a Teleconference
March 15, 2010
Teleconferences are a great resource for speakers, when it comes to setting up a speaking engagement. Once you know what you want to talk about and who your audience will be, then you can make a more informed decision. It is important to research as many providers as you can, and then compare and see which one fits your needs the best.
In doing my research, I found a few sites that hold teleconferences. Some are free, and some are paid. Some provide many options, and others only provide the basics. Here is my list of the top six sites to hold a conference (in no particular order). There are still many more choices out there, but these are the ones I have had personal experience with, or received feedback about.
- Free Conference – www.freeconference.com
- Instant Conference – www.instantconference.com
- GoToMeeting – www.gotomeeting.com
- Webex -www.webex.com
- Free Conference Call – www.freeconferencecall.com
- Citrix – www.citrix.com
Remember, in the end, the final decision is up to you. Take your time to research and explore. Then, make the most of your new experience using teleconferences. Contact Us if you would like our help in choosing and setting up the right program for you.
Using a Virtual Assistant in Your Business
March 1, 2010
Have you heard about Virtual Assistants, but you are not sure if you can use one in your business? For speakers, coaches, and trainers, a Virtual Assistant can prove invaluable to your business. Virtual Assistants are adept at general administrative skills, but usually, they have a niche market as well. This means that aside from getting your regular administrative tasks accomplished, your VA could have a special skill that they market and use, which in turn can really help your business get to the next level.
Some Virtual Assistants focus on bookkeeping, while others focus on web design, and still others focus on Social Media. The possibilities are endless, but once you know where you want your business to go, then you can really start looking in the right direction for the VA that will be perfect for you.
If you are struggling with getting your speaking engagements and also gaining more of a presence on the web, then you should look into a Virtual Assistant who focuses on managing Speakers. That relationship will allow you to get your name out there in different networking sites, as well as assist you with keeping your Facebook and Twitter accounts current, and there are many other things that VA can assist you with.
Your initial consultation with that Virtual Assistant will provide you with all the ways that VA can help you. Your VA can also help you stay on top of appointments, keep in touch with contacts, while helping you secure more speaking engagements – all while giving you time to focus on the things you are best at and what brings in more money for your business.
